VIDEO: Real-Time Revision 13 – How and Why to Get Rid of “I Saw” and Other Needless Phrases

As I tackle a new chapter of my novel, I notice a tendency to use words and phrases that aren’t really needed because they are already obvious to the reader. This video runs a little longer, even though it only shows me revising a handful of sentences. This is, at least for me, what revising is all about: taking the time to polish every word in every sentence until it is doing the best work it can. I’d love to hear your feedback on revision! Do you revise differently than I do? How would you have approached this section differently than I did?
