This week we look at one of the “be” verbs and how it weakens our writing. “Am, is, are, were, was, be, being, been” are incredibly useful verbs, but they often signal places in our stories where we are telling rather than showing. Take a look at how I find them in my writing and, more importantly, how I get rid of them so my writing is as concise and powerful as possible.
